Nick Rusticus, head chef of Sonder Eatery, was born and raised in Hudsonville, Mi but he did not discover his passion for making incredible dishes with local, farm fresh food until he moved to Arizona. There, entered the culinary studies and after starting at the bottom of the totem pole in a small restaurant quickly worked his way up to Souz Chef in one of the most established restaurants in Scottsdale.
Despite being happy in Arizona, in Nick’s heart he desired to be back in Hudsonville, Michigan where he desired to share his farm-to-table dishes with family and friends. With the rich agricultural history in Western Michigan Nick knew he could take his passion to a whole new level and when he heard about the Terra Square Farmers Market opening in the heart of downtown Hudsonville he bought his ticket home.
Although the journey to start Sonder Eatery was not without some bumps, Nick is now able to do the things he loves, in the area he loves, and with the people he loves. Nick has put together a strong team of likeminded individuals to help serve the thousands of people that sonder through the eatery every month.
